Mind the Store

I think I am done messing with the D&D 5e economy. I found a nice document online where a person named Saidoro collected a bunch of pricing information (working with groups of people at Giant in the Playground, /r/DnDNext, and EnWorld to refine it) and have decided to use that as the basis for magic item pricing. As my previous post indicated, I also chopped the mundane item prices downward, to 20% of list in the PHB.

All of that information has been collected in a page on this blog entitled "The Store".

I like the magic item prices Saidoro et al came up with; they provide a nice level of granularity, reminiscent of 3e without going overboard. On average, a common (charged) magic item costs 75 gp, an uncommon (charged) item costs 500 gp, an uncommon item 5000 gp, a rare (charged) item 1000 gp, a rare item 10,000 gp, a very rare (charged) item 3000 gp, a very rare item 30,000 gp, a legendary (charged) item 400 gp, and a legendary item 40,000 gp. The most expensive item is 165,000 gp.

Below I have the final version of my PC Wealth by Level table, including both the value of the coins, gems, and art collected as well as the magical items the heroes will find amid the treasure piles (which, let's face it, are likely to be sold).
